The Department of Dental Sciences is a constituent department of Riphah International University – Peshawar Campus and comprises Peshawar Dental College. Established in 2010, it is recognized by the Federal Ministry of Health, PM&DC, and HEC. The College is for female students only, with a student-centred aim of producing dentists who are professionally competent, ethically grounded, research-minded, and community-aware.
Peshawar Dental College has graduated more than 450 dentists and continues to serve students and communities in KP through academic, social, and research activities. Postgraduate M.Phil programmes in basic dental sciences are now open.
The College conducts a four-year BDS programme with an integrated modular system from session 2019–2020. The programme emphasizes professional knowledge, skill development, and ethical values. Undergraduate research (UMR) is a regular component. Faculty, departments, library, and laboratories support teaching and learning.
Peshawar Dental College has its own tertiary care teaching hospital in Peshawar (Peshawar Dental Hospital), providing patient care and training for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Preclinical skills are developed in surgical skill and phantom laboratories; clinical skills are taught in small groups under faculty supervision. Students also rotate at affiliated teaching hospitals, including Mercy Teaching Hospital and Prime Teaching Hospital.
Co-curricular activities include seminars, workshops, oral health awareness visits, free dental camps, Social Welfare Society activities, sports, and literary events.
Location of College Campus
The College is located on Warsak Road, near St. Mary's school and a short distance from Peshawar Medical College, adjacent to Prime Teaching Hospital. The campus spreads over about 25 kanals with administrative offices, teaching complex, libraries, laboratories, and cafeteria. Excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities are available.
The college is easily accessible from the cantonment railway station, the city main bus terminal and the Peshawar International Airport.
Warsak road is a dual carriage road, with public buses plying on it, throughout the day and late night. There is a local shopping center adjacent to the college, while the main shopping mall of Sadder is at a close distance. Captain Sher Khan Shaheed stadium on Jamrud road, Warsak dam, and Michini riveria on Kabul River, are at the doorstep' of the college and are popular recreation sites.
Hostel accommodation for girl's students is available on college campus.
